IVANPAL SINGH GREWAL, a Cardiff University graduate and Barrister at Law, embarked on his distinguished career with the Malaysian Bar after a formative period in public service. Beginning in the Prime Minister’s Department, Ivanpal was appointed Special Officer to Tan Sri Dr. Koh Tsu Koon (former Chief Minister of Penang and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department) and subsequently served as Political Secretary to Datuk Seri Mah Siew Keong (Minister of Plantations and Commodities). These roles provided Ivanpal with extensive experience in governmental policy, international trade, and collaboration with organisations promoting Malaysian commodity exports, as well as the upholding of constitutional and democratic principles.

Now the Senior Partner at A.J. Ariffin, Yeo & Harpal, Ivanpal serves as Legal Advisor to a range of organisations and companies, managing significant briefs across corporate and property disputes. His diverse practice encompasses company, family, and commercial disputes, alongside high-stakes cases involving financial crime and money laundering, showcasing his expertise in complex litigation and advisory work.

Recently, Ivanpal completed his Master of Laws in International Commercial Law and Practice from the University of Edinburgh, achieving a distinction for his dissertation on jurisdictional challenges in international arbitration, particularly those arising when the successful party seeks enforcement of the arbitral award.
