DHANESH SUBRAMANIAM NAIR is a graduate of the University of Liverpool and a Barrister at Law. He further enhanced his expertise by obtaining an LLM from the City University of London, specialising in Fraud and Economic Crime, with a dissertation focusing on Kleptocracy and Money Laundering. Dhanesh was admitted to the Malaysian Bar on 7th September 2022.
Dhanesh began his legal career by serving his pupillage under Gobind Singh Deo, former Minister of Telecommunications, where he worked on a range of high-profile cases involving public interest, economic crime, and drug offences. Following his pupillage, Dhanesh joined Messrs Sri Ram, where he had the privilege of working closely with the late Datuk Seri Gopal Sri Ram on numerous appellate briefs, covering both constitutional and commercial litigation, until the untimely passing of his mentor.
Now, together with Senior Partner Ivanpal Singh Grewal, Dhanesh co-leads A.J. Ariffin, Yeo & Harpal’s burgeoning criminal law unit, which focuses on white-collar crime. This dynamic unit offers clients cutting-edge legal solutions in areas such as fraud, money laundering, and economic offences. With his in-depth knowledge and experience in complex legal issues, Dhanesh provides innovative strategies and strong advocacy, ensuring the best possible outcomes for the firm’s clients.
